“It is with great sorrow that we are forced to acknowledge his passing at this time. We are grateful for the emergency services and everyone present in his final hours on this earth. As a family, we face a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has happened to us and we ask that we be given time and space,” the family’s statement continued.
“The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given our son and for your continued encouragement even in spirit. Please, keep us in your prayers and be encouraged in the Lord”, they ended up expressing. And the first messages of condolences and support for the family did not take long to arrive.
The festival organization also shared a message showing their dismay: “We are devastated by the sudden loss of beloved South African artist Costa Titch, who tragically passed away this weekend. Costa was a galvanizing voice within the South African Amapiano scene: a talented rapper, dancer, songwriter, collaborator and friend of the festival. Our deepest thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family, his friends, and our entire community, who are mourning this heartbreaking loss together.”
