South Africa – PSL (J17): Mamelodi Sundowns curls Orlando Pirates and escapes at the top of the ranking

This Friday, the 17th day of the South African Premier Soccer League was marked by two matches. First between AmaZulu and Marumo Gallants, then between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The Sundowns Crush the Pirates

Then, the Sundowns hammered 4-1 the Pirates in their titanic game which was played tonight at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. A success achieved thanks in particular to a double from Pavol Safranko and goals from Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile in favor of the reigning South African champions.

The victory allowed Mamelodi Sundowns to build an 18-point lead at the top of the league standings, while Orlando Pirates remained third in the standings despite the heavy loss. Fortune Makaringe scored the only goal for the Buccaneers.
