Al-Marsad Newspaper: Sources close to the Moroccan artist, “Saad Lamjarred”, revealed his life in prison, after the Paris Criminal Court ruled that he be imprisoned for six years on charges of raping a French girl.
The sources said, in statements to local newspapers, that Lamjarred does not benefit from any special treatment, but rather enjoys all the rights granted to him by French law as a prisoner, by providing heating and television, as he languishes in a solitary cell in Lasante prison in Paris.
The sources indicated that despite being placed in a solitary cell, he is allowed to walk daily among other inmates, and is allowed to speak with his wife and lawyer every day.
And she emphasized that Saad Lamjarred spends his days in prayer and reading the Qur’an, awaiting the appeal stage, the date of which has not yet been determined.
It is noteworthy that “Saad Lamjarred” appealed the verdict issued against him on February 27, after a trial in which 7 out of 9 of the jury voted that he was guilty of rape and was sentenced to six years in prison.
