Source reacts to the TV images of the team-mate: – Completely behind the goal

Adrian Smiseth Sejersted only had to hit the skid before he threw himself into the super-G course in Cortina. Then the TV production managed to stream his nobler parts to thousands of viewers.

See the TV production’s blister at the top of the case.

While Aleksander Aamodt Kilde reported on the course to teammate Sejersted, the production cut from a camera down in the finish area where Kilde was standing, to the top where Sejersted was getting ready.

At the same time that the viewers heard parts of the message that was given from Kilde to Sejersted, they also got to see the Norwegian’s final preparations.

Because while Sejersted listened to Kilde, he also emptied his mind. The cameraman caught it and the pictures went on air.

That causes teammate Kilde to react:

– That should not happen. And as I understood it, he was filming and realized that that was what Adrian was doing, he was going to the bathroom, says Kilde, who caught what had happened at the back of the race.

Sejersted does not want to comment on the incident, but is aware that VG is covering the case.

– This was on “world feed”, and therefore not something only Norwegians were served. There is usually a gentleman’s agreement on this in several sports, such as cycling. I am therefore guessing that it is a matter of a miss, says sports manager at Viaplay, Kristian Oma, to VG.

VG has contacted the production company Infront, which was responsible for the TV images from Cortina. They have not responded to VG’s inquiry.

Kilde, who ended up finishing second in the race, behind Swiss Marco Odermatt, was naturally satisfied with his own effort. But he has few words of praise for those who produced Saturday’s race.

– It is permissible to use a little intelligence when it comes to that scheme there. I don’t know what he was thinking, he must have been paying little attention. It was a very strange situation, and if you ask me it shouldn’t happen, says Kilde and continues:

– Firstly, that they actually film it, and secondly, that they broadcast it. It’s completely behind the mark if you ask me, something should be done about it.

Press officer for the alpinists, Claes-Tommy Herland, tells VG that he will follow up on what happened on Saturday.

– Adrian has received many reactions to the pictures. I, as press officer, will follow up on this further internally in the ski association and towards the relevant actors.

Sejersted finished number 14 in Saturday’s super-G race.
