A responsible source in Zamalek revealed that the fine of Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala, captain of the team owed to Sporting Lisbon, was deducted from the player’s dues, but has not yet been paid.
The source said, in exclusive statements, Leela Kora: “The Lisbon Sporting fine was deducted from Shikabala’s dues with Zamalek, but it was not paid.”
He added, “Failure to transfer the owed amount to Sporting Lisbon led to the imposition of late fines on the club.”
He continued: “There are attempts to resolve the crisis at the present time, and the Zamalek administration is negotiating with Sporting Lisbon officials.”
The source concluded by saying: “The Zamalek administration is seeking to pay the financial compensation without the interest and delay penalties due to the increase in the financial compensation regarding the fine, and the administration hopes that it will be paid in installments and not immediately.”
And a fine was imposed on Zamalek last April, amounting to 500 thousand euros, due to the delay of the white club in paying dues for the value of the Shikabala deal.
It is reported that Chikabala joined the Portuguese ranks of Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014, but he only participated in one match before he stopped training, to decide after that to return to Egypt, specifically from the gate of his current team, Zamalek.
