A source at the Ministry of Health and Population said that Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, decided to punish the Undersecretary of the Ministry in Giza and a number of leaders of the Directorate, due to what he described as “negligence in their work”, especially in dealing with the new Corona virus infections.

The source explained to Masrawy, today, that the decision included suspending the rewards of the Undersecretary, Director of the Directorate, and 4 leaders in different departments.

Giza Governorate ranks second in the number of registered infections with the new Corona virus, about 9.6%.

The source added: “The Minister of Health is following the situation and dealing with Corona injuries on the ground on an ongoing basis and in coordination with all governorates, and stressed the necessity of applying all treatment protocols and continuously monitoring the patients’ condition.”

Earlier, Dr. Khaled Mujahid, the media advisor to the Minister of Health and Population, and a spokesman for the ministry, said that the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona begins tomorrow, Wednesday, inspection tours of isolation hospitals in all governorates. To ensure the level of service provided to patients and the extent of application of the treatment protocol.

In statements to Masrawy, Mujahid explained that Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, assigned the Scientific Committee to conduct these tours accompanied by assisting teams from the preventive medicine sector, control and follow-up in the ministry, indicating that a schedule had been set to visit all isolation hospitals nationwide from tomorrow until the end of the week Next.

He added that a detailed report will be prepared on what has been monitored by the scientific committee and inspection committees after the end of the tour, and submitted to the Minister of Health to take the necessary action.
