Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is ready to try his hand in the industry. Ganguly announced that the steel factory will be set up at Salboni in Medinipur, West Bengal. Ganguly was also part of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s 12-day visit to Spain and Dubai. Ganguly also informed that the construction work of the factory will be completed within five to six months.
“We are happy to be able to build the third steel plant in Bengal. I take this opportunity to thank the Chief Minister for this. Many people thought that I was only interested in sports. But we started a small steel plant in 2007. “We will build our new steel plant in Medinipur in five to six months”, Ganguly said. Ganguly was addressing the ‘Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS)’ in Madrid on Thursday.

Ganguly, who is also a former BCCI president, also spoke about the family business that his grandfather started 55 years ago. Ganguly also mentioned that the state government had supported this initiative even then. “This state has often welcomed the rest of the world to do business with. It is very clear that this government wants to work for the welfare of the state and its youth”, he added.
