Kolkata: The BCCI President and former captain of the Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly has suffered a heart attack. Ganguly was admitted to Woodland’s Hospital in Kolkata yesterday morning after feeling unwell during regular exercise.
Dr Rupali Basu, MD and chief executive officer of Woodlands Hospital, said Ganguly had suffered a heart attack and underwent angioplasty. Ganguly has two blocks at heart. Rupali Basu said that these will be treated. Ganguly’s brother Snehashish said he fell ill while exercising in the gym at home at 11am.
Dr Rupali Basu said Ganguly’s heart rate and blood pressure were abnormal when he was rushed to the hospital. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that Sourav Ganguly is back to normal and has spoken to him. Many, including Indian captain Virat Kohli, wished Ganguly good health. Sourav Ganguly is trying to bring cricket back to normalcy in the country following the Kovid-19 virus epidemic.
IPL The 13th season of cricket was held in the UAE thanks to Ganguly’s efforts. He was attending the BCCI Annual General Meeting on December 24 in Ahmedabad. Ganguly has taken the lead in bringing two new franchises to the IPL from 2022. Ganguly Syed Mushtaq, who visited the Eden Gardens in Kolkata yesterday, held discussions with Bengal Cricket Association President Avishek Dalmia on the preparations for the Ali Trophy Twenty20 tournament.
