Foto: Bettina Osswald – – Wuppertal The Wuppertal DJ and sound designer Charles Petersohn will be present with his work twice on Thursday (July 22, 2021) – in the Von der Heydt Museum and in the Caritas International Meeting Center. At 6 p.m. the exhibition “Vision and horror of modernity. Industry and artistic departure ”, which ends on Sunday, July 25, 2021, in the Von der Heydt Museum, Petersohn’s ambient soundtrack“ Work and Vision ”produced for the exhibition. At 4.30 p.m., curator Beate Eickhoff will guide through the exhibition. – Cost: 14 euros (including admission), registration in the museum’s online shop at www.von-der-heydt-museum.de or by phone 0202 / 563-6630. – Charles Petersohn himself is present at the museum from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to speak to visitors about his soundtrack, if desired. – It continues at 8 p.m. in the International Meeting Center of Caritas, Hünefeldstrasse 54a, in Unterbarmen: There the film “Oh Karl”, which Frank N and Charles Petersohn produced for the “Engels2020” year in Wuppertal, is shown – inspired by Friedrich Engels’ incomplete Book “Dialectics of Nature”. As a poetic essay film, “Oh Karl” shows the consequences of climate change in partly meditative images that are broken by violent scenes. – After the film, Frank N and Charles Petersohn have a conversation with Yazgülü Zeybek, the parliamentary leader of the Wuppertal Greens.
