Sounds against the wind, in Norcia the meeting to talk about peace and how to build it with the daily practice of the culture of human rights

NORCIA – “Abolishing war is an urgent necessity and starting again from human rights is the only responsible and concrete choice to regenerate our present and guarantee the future of the human race”. This is what Rossella Miccio, president of Emergency introduces the speech dedicated to peace and unity between peoples that will be held tomorrow, August 10, in the Scentinelle park in Norcia. The event will introduce the concert of the Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Xavier Rudd, and will take place within the project “Let’s start again from the territories produced in collaboration with Rai Umbria and Sounds Against the Windthe zero-impact festival, which will bring art to the most beautiful Umbrian villages until September 8th.

The “mannerism” of peace, without building it. “War, increasingly presented as an “inevitable solution” for the good of all, is in reality the choice of a few that fills the void left by Politics – continues Miccio – We are in the era of interconnection but we have never been so distant. Technological conquests have extended the scope of the possible but, in the meantime, we have narrowed the perimeter of our consciences. The “mannerism” of peace has spread, but without having the courage to build it”.

“This year, together with Rai Umbria, we wanted to expand the festival program with some panels dedicated to peace, sustainability, disability and legality because we believe that art has among its objectives that of promoting the construction of a better world, creating open and inclusive spaces for debate”, said Lucia Fiumi, president of AUCMAUmbrian Association of Song and Author’s Musicwhich promotes and organizes the event Sounds Against the Wind.

Peace is the daily practice of human rights. “We have learned that peace is a path of culture and daily practice of human rights” concludes the president of the humanitarian association that for 30 years has cared for the victims of conflicts and worked to impose a paradigm shift that passes precisely through the abolition of war.

The role of information. Information plays a fundamental role in continuing to keep the light on the conflicts that cross our time – says Giovanni Parapini, director of Rai Umbria – peace is not only a need, it is an inalienable right to the construction of which we must all contribute. This is why we believe in the importance of promoting moments like these”. From 5 pm tomorrow, from Valico Castelluccio di Norcia. The meeting is reserved for ticket holders of the Xavier Rudd concert. Who the entire program.
