Soundmojis, Emoji that Now Speaks on Facebook Messenger

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Facebook Messenger now has a voice emoji feature that can add to the user’s expression during a text conversation. This feature is called Soundmojis which makes sounds like applause to song snippets.

How to access Soundmojis is quite easy, where the user taps the emoji button in a Messenger conversation, then taps the sound icon on the far right, then selects the list of available options.

The next step is to select the emoji to view, check the accompanying voice, then hit the “send” button to include it in your conversation.

The Verge explained that there are various Soundmojis, such as goats bleating, clapping, and some playing musical effects of famous musicians’ songs.

Then there are emoji clips from TV shows and movies, like Dominic Toretto’s ‘I don’t have friends, I got family’ in Fast & Furious 7.

Facebook explains that it will continue to add Soundmojis from time to time, so this feature will be more expressive in the future.

“Every day, people send more than 2.4 billion messages with emojis on Messenger. Emojis add color and vibrancy to Messenger chats around the world and we rely on them to say what can’t be said with words,” Loredana Crisan , Messenger’s VP of Messaging Products, in a statement citing Bussinnes Insider.
