Brit Froome has won the Tour de France four times in the past, twice won the Spanish Vuelta and once the Italian Giro.
The organizers of the event informed about it on Wednesday at a press conference in Bratislava.
The 65th year of the Around Slovakia race will take place from 15 to 19 September, so the event under the Tatras will culminate on the day of the start of the World Road Cycling Championships in Belgium.

“Bora-hansgrohe keeps his promises. As a result, the most successful road cyclist in history, Peter Sagan, will start Around Slovakia.
Along with him, the Bora-hansgrohe team also nominated other Slovaks, Juraj Sagan and Erik Baška, proven co-drivers of the Pole Maciej Bodnar and Italian Daniel Oss, who, together with Sagan, leave Bora for Total Energies after the end of the season.

The three-time world champion and seven-time winner of the scoring competition at the Tour de France, Peter Sagan, will start on Slovak roads in preparation for the upcoming World Championships in Belgium.
The peloton will have the start number 11. The unit is reserved for last year’s champion Jannick Steimle (Deceuninck – Quick-Step).
The official start list will be published on August 25, when the deadline for the entire lists is set.
Seven teams of the highest category of the World Tour and six procontinental teams promised to participate.
On Wednesday, September 15, the program includes a prologue in the center of Košice, a day later a 158.4 km long stage with a start and finish also in Košice.
The second stage on Friday 17 September will lead from Spišské Podhradie to Dolný Kubín, the third from Dolný Kubín to Považská Bystrica and the race will culminate on Sunday 19 September on the Trenčianske Teplice – Trnava line.
Over the course of five days, cyclists will cover a total of 692 kilometers and fight for twelve speed and fifteen mountaineering bonuses.

In addition to the rarest yellow jersey, the competitors will share three other jerseys. Green in the scoring competition, white-red dotted for the best mountaineer and white in the competition for cyclists under 23. There are 15 mountaineering and 12 speed bonuses waiting for cyclists.

Sam Bennett and Davide Cimolai will not come to Slovakia, but Giacomo Nizzolo, Álvaro Hodeg or Cees Bol should compete with Peter Sagan.
Thirty-one-year-old Sagan signed a two-year contract with the French team TotalEnergies in early August. He will finish the current season in Bora-hansgrohe, he will join the new team after this year.

International races Around Slovakia will be broadcast live on Eurosport. The Government of the Slovak Republic approved a subsidy of 350,000 euros, the total budget is 700,000 euros.
Slovakia Travel also plays a significant role in negotiations and implementation.
Live broadcasts on Eurosport 1 should be hourly, on Eurosport 2 they will be broadcast in the evening. Dvojka also has a live broadcast in its program.
