Born in Saint-Saulve, near Valenciennes, Souhad Ghazouani, 34, discovered weightlifting at the age of 6. Then she quickly put her bags down at ASPTT Lille Métropole (weightlifters train at the Maryvonne Dupureur room, rue de Wazemmes). “My very first venue is where I am today. This is where I did my very first small competitions, and where my educator and trainer Sylvain Houzet introduced me to the bench press. I really like this room which I consider my second home.
