Soucek and Fabiansky: Czech National Team and West Ham United Friendship

Warsaw (from our correspondent) – “Now, of course, we also discussed with each other. I know Lukasz will be watching the match. He said he had to disappoint me because he was going to support Poland. Of course I understand that. He did a great job for the country, he is considered a national hero,” said Soucek at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Thursday.

He and Fabianský, who ended his international career two years ago, have been wearing the Hammers jersey since the summer of 2020. They are close to each other, their families visit each other. A month ago, thanks to his advice, Souček converted a penalty kick against the Faroe Islands, securing an important win for the national team.

“When a player waits a long time for execution, it often has a negative impact on him. He starts thinking unnecessarily about where to place the shot. Lukasz had already advised me to keep the ball in my hand as long as possible before the penalty and not look at the goal. I stick to it,” said Souček, who is looking forward to competing with Fabianski after returning to London.

“Lukasz and I talked a lot after the March match. We joked all week, I teased him a bit. I hope that I will continue this now,” Souček smirked.
