West Ham footballers with Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal won the 27th round of the English league over Leeds 2: 0 and jumped to fifth place in the table ensuring participation in the European League. The “hammers” decided on their third win of four matches in the first half, when they hit Jesse Lingard after an unchanged penalty, and soon after, the header Craig Dawson succeeded.
David Moyes’ charges are two points behind the fourth Chelsea, which beat Everton 1-0 and hold fourth in the Champions League. They also have the same lead over the sixth Everton.
The match was preceded by a minute of silence under the late former “Hammer” coach Glenn Roeder, who succumbed to a serious illness at the end of February.
Leeds was initially more active and delivered the ball to Fabian’s goal twice in two minutes. However, Leeds remained very dangerous in the second half. But Raphinha was caught twice by Fabiaňski and the huge chance was eliminated by Rodrigo in the end by Dawson on the goal line. For the second time in a row, Leeds was left without a point or a goal scored.
Chelsea also succeeded, beating Everton 2-0. The London team has not lost its ninth league match in a row since the arrival of new coach Thomas Tuchel and kept a clean sheet for the third time in a row.
The star of the match was the German midfielder Kai Haverz, whose quick shot first unhappily flowed into the defender of Godfrey in the first half (it was Everton’s 54th own goal in the Premier League) and in the second half after a foul he turned a penalty kick into Jorginho.
Chelsea defeated the second team from Liverpool for a short time in a row and returned the December defeat 0: 1.
