Sorting Hat and Booze – Players have made a list of things in Hogwarts Legacy that don’t make sense

The recently released Hogwarts Legacy, despite all the accolades, seemed to the players to be very … illogical, many things, as the players note, either make no sense or simply do not converge.

In the game, the main character takes on the role of a student of the school of witchcraft and wizardry, studies magic, studies diligently and stuff like that, however, there are several things that do not fall within the scope of logic, for example, the lesson lasts only five minutes, and everything is allowed to create, whatever comes into your head, already at this moment it seems that the school rules somehow forgot to add to the game.

Some players found it absurd to drink the brew of the tenth century, like any other drinks that just sit on the counters and tables, “drunk teenagers in the school of magic, what could be more magical” – considered one of the users of the English-speaking forum. The food did not go unnoticed by the players, although in general it looks normal, it is difficult to say whether anyone took it before the player or not

Here is another reason for resentment – the player as the main character can help everyone in a row, he is trusted with tasks even by adults, despite his immaturity, the main character will climb into a cave with spiders, and he will enchant all sorts of monsters with his wand.

Such seemingly recklessness upset fans, and speaking of adventure, many would like to see variety in the choice of character traits. For example, the sorting hat, which should wisely ask questions, determine the player’s further path. But in reality, she asks only two questions that do not affect anything except the faculty. Many Harry Potter fans have been waiting for the moment when the hat will ask them a special question, and were disappointed. Even cult RPGs such as Morrowind ask a lot more questions to allow the player to set the variability in character development.

Okay, let’s put all this down to game design and conventions, but what about the vaunted morality system? The players noticed that having learned the cherished curse of death, no one will condemn you for killing, not to mention the banal “leviosa”, which, by the way, does not work on objects if the player is standing on them.

There are still many such logical inconsistencies in the game, and although Hogwarts Legacy is a fairly large game, with twenty hours of content, many aspects look unfinished. Players, noticing such logical gaps, especially fans of the Harry Potter franchise, were very disappointed, although it is worth paying tribute to the well-developed locations and the great work of the developers.
