North Korean (North Korean) leader Kim Jong-Un, has apologized to South Korea, after his soldiers shot dead a South Korean fisheries official who was reported missing. This apology was conveyed by the South Korean Presidential Office.

As reported Associated Press and Reuters, Friday (25/9/2020), the South Korean presidential office revealed that Kim Jong-Un delivered an apology in a letter to the office of South Korean President Moon Jae-In.

President Moon’s security adviser, Suh Hoon, revealed that in the letter Kim Jong-Un said “sorry” that the incident disappointed the South Korean public and said the incident should not have happened.

It was also explained that Kim Jong-Un called the incident “unexpected” and “unfortunate”. It is quite unusual for North Korean leaders to apologize to South Korea for any issue.
