Arsenal might be going to bite the finger related to the mission they get Manuel Locatelli. Because, Locatelli seems more inclined to Juventus because of the Champions League.
Locatelli is selling well because it is being hunted by a number of top European clubs. The Sassuolo midfielder performed well at Euro 2020, with Italy emerging as champions.
He scored twice as Italy beat Switzerland 3-0 in the group stage. Locatelli became the player with the best goal ratio for 90 minutes, which is 0.66, only losing to Matteo Pessina who made two goals in four matches.
Locatelli is also fierce in the middle because he is able to release more tackles than any other Italian player, averaging 2.32 tackles per game. He is even better than Verratti (2.02) or Federico Bernardeschi (1.42).
Therefore it is reasonable if Arsenal willing to pay 40 million euros to get the 22-year-old’s signature. Moreover, Arsenal need a new top midfielder after Granit Xhaka is likely to leave.
However, Arsenal are not alone because Juventus also want to bring in Manuel Locatelli this summer. Coach Massimiliano Allegri wants Locatelli to strengthen the midfield.
Unfortunately, Juventus can only provide a proposal of 30 million euros plus players to be exchanged. Moreover, Juventus will borrow for the first season before redeeming it at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
Meanwhile, Sassuolo would have preferred the 40 million euro cash that Arsenal offered because they could use it straight away to find a replacement.
Well, a new problem arises again if Sassuolo and Juventus later reach an agreement, Locatelli will not necessarily move to the Emirates stadium. Because, Locatelli wants to feel performing in the Champions League.
Arsenal will not play in European competition this season having only finished eighth, the first time in 25 years. If it’s like this, the Gunners are ready to be disappointed because Manuel Locatelli want to go to Juventus.
