Werder Bremen – RB Leipzig 1-2 eot
He becomes Sørloth’s new boss
On Friday night, RB Leipzig reached the German cup final, when they beat Werder Bremen 2-1 after extra innings.
Alexander Sørloth had a place in Julian Nagelmann’s first eleven after he was introduced as Bayern Munich’s next coach.
The green-clad made it difficult for the Norwegian team in the semifinals.
After 90 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. Thus, the match had to be decided after extra innings. Just before the regular time was out, Sørloth was replaced, without having marked the match.
From the sidelines, he saw the two teams each score their own goal, before Emil Forsberg scored the decisive goal that sends Leipzig to the final in Berlin.
Who Sørloth and RB Leipzig meet there will be decided on Saturday. Then Borussia Dortmund and the little cup sensation Holstein Kiel meet in the second semifinal.
Thus, there may be a Norwegian striker duel between Alexander Sørloth and Erling Braut Haaland in the German cup final, which is played on Ascension Day, 13 May.
