The US television series “The Sopranos” became a mega-success in the early noughties. Now the entire cast comes together for a good cause in New York to collect donations for the NGO “Friends of Firefighters”. The organization was founded after the 9/11 attacks with the aim of providing psychological care and other support to traumatized firefighters and their families.
The program will be broadcast on Friday, December 18, at 10:00 p.m. German time. The actors Steve Buscemi, Lorraine Bracco, Robert Iler, Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, Drea de Matteo, Steve Schirrip, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Maureen and Steven Van Zandt as well as the scriptwriters David Chase and Terence Winter and the director will be there Tim Van Patten. “The Sopranos” were shown on US television from 1999 to 2007 and from March 2000 on German TV as well. The series tells about the Italian-American soprano mafia family from New Jersey and became a celebrated series classic within a very short time. “The Sopranos” also received numerous awards, including 21 Emmys and five Golden Globes.
