Soprano Nicole Taylor performs in Morocco

The Consulate General of the United States in Casablanca commemorates the Black History Month, African-American History Month celebrated in February each year. On this occasion, it organizes February 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the cultural center American Arts Center, Casablanca, a music concert featuring American soprano Nicole Taylor. Accompanied by the pianist Natasha Marinthe soprano will present works by Black Spiritualssongs deeply rooted in African-American history and culture with biblical inspirations, referring to themes of emancipation from slavery, community, and hope.

This concert is open to the public free of charge, subject to availability. Originally from Los Angeles, the soprano and teaching artist Nicole Taylor has won awards both in the US and internationally. As the State Department’s Arts Envoy since 2010, Nicole Taylor has traveled across Europe and the Middle East offering concerts, master classes and outreach educational programs with the aim of promoting understanding, compassion, communication and building cross-cultural bridges. For her part, the Russian-born pianist Natasha Marin impresses both as a soloist and in orchestra. Natasha’s collaborative programs include piano duets with internationally renowned pianists such as Gerald Robbins, Dmitry Rachmanov, and Maria Demina.
