The singer Soprano could have gone through the Toulouse Stadium for his tour “The Star Hunter tour”, in the summer of 2022. But it will not be so … (© Archives / Actu.fr)
When we think of concerts at Stadium, come back to us on these magical 24 and 25 May 2019 with the performances of Bigflo & Oli in front of 60,000 cumulative spectators, two exceptional shows, leading guests (Squeezie, Black M, Fabian Ordonez, their father, YouTubers McFly and Carlito … ): a great advertisement for the return of concerts in Toulouse’s temple of sport.
During the Saturday concert, Soprano was one of those artists invited by the Toulouse duo. A teasing to announce a future return to the Pink City? The possibility existed… but it did not materialize.
In concert in Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux …
During the summer of 2022, the French rapper will tour the stadiums, “The star hunter tour”, and will stop in Switzerland, in Lausanne (June 4, 2022) and in four French cities: in Lyon (Rhône), where he will perform at Groupama Stadium (June 11), at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) (June 18), at Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux (Gironde), on June 25 and at the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis (Seine Saint-Denis) 2nd of July.

“We never received any answers to our requests”
Between Bordeaux and Marseille, there could have been Toulouse on the tour map. “At the end of 2019, we contacted the town hall of Toulouse and Toulouse Métropole because the producer was interested in coming to Toulouse. However, we have never received a response to our various requests ”, reveals Michel Goudard, the boss ofEuterpe Promotion (which houses the Box Office ticket office, rue du Taur in Toulouse), which manages nearly 350 shows per year (450 for this 2021-2022 post-Covid season) in the Grand Sud-Ouest region and takes care of the organization of the Soprano stadium tour.
“No formal solicitation”, indicates the town hall
On the side of the town hall, we deny having let such an opportunity pass. “There was a contact but the turner was not at the end of his intention. We never said no because there was no formal solicitation ”.
Francis Grass, Culture and Major Cultural Events Assistant, details:
“At the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020, shortly after debriefing the two Bigflo & Oli concerts with our services, we were indeed asked for the tour of the Soprano stadiums. They wanted to know if they could have a date for Toulouse. , the Covid has arrived and we have not been contacted “.
However, the period of Soprano’s tour, which begins in early June 2022 in Switzerland, could coincide with the Stadium’s availability for this type of event, i.e. three weeks or even a month after the end of the Toulouse Football Club season (the last match at the Stadium of the season will be TFC-Nîmes, Saturday May 7, 2022).
Toulouse limited compared to Bordeaux?
Or, Toulouse, with the 33,000 seats in the stadium against the 42,000 seats in the Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux, is it simply not? limited to accommodate the concerts of such a tour ? “For Bordeaux, the economic balance is better, we do not have the same capacity. Technically, we have proven that we can organize concerts. Economically, this remains to be proven, revenues fail to balance expenses, ”explains Francis Grass.
The elected official specifies that Toulouse is still open to welcome the French star in 2022 as part of his tour, but the chances that the singer will finally make a stopover in the Pink City are almost zero. And the town hall indicates that no request for a concert at the Stadium “is being studied”. The 60,000 spectators in May 2019 can consider themselves lucky. Soprano fans will have a long way to go to applaud their idol. And the people of Toulouse are not about to see a concert in the Petit Wembley again. Will a climb in Ligue 1 be enough as a consolation prize?
