Sophie Hilbrand spoke to three generations for a new show NOW

Presenter Sophie Hilbrand can be seen from Saturday in a new game show from BNNVARA, called The Great Generation Show. In preparation, Hilbrand spoke to several generations, including the father of her husband Waldemar Torenstra.

In The Great Generation Show three different generations compete against each other. On the basis of different themes, questions are asked from which the difference in generations becomes clear.

The presenter has prepared for the show in various ways. “Of course I first chatted with relatives of different ages. I have also learned a lot of new things.”

She also spoke to her husband’s father Waldemar Torenstra. “He told such a funny story that as a child you were just washed in the kitchen twice a week in the kitchen. For the generations of today that is almost impossible to imagine,” said Hilbrand.

‘Chemistry between team captains was great fun’

All generations are led by a team captain. For the youngest generation this is presenter Sahil Amar Aïssa, for the middle generation comedian Richard Groenendijk and for the older generation singer Gerard Cox.

According to Hilbrand, the dynamics between the different team captains were very nice. “We made an appointment at Gerard’s house before the filming and the chemistry between the three was very nice to see. Discussing all the themes brought a lot of funny moments.”

The Great Generation Show can be seen on NPO1 from Saturday 18 April.
