“We have set up a studio in our living room. Because all the events fell into the water, I was no longer able to stand on stage, neither at poetry slams nor as a presenter. As a result, I dealt intensively with hip-hop music, ”says Juen. She now fully lives her passion for writing creative texts musically. “The process leading to the finished work is very different. With slam texts you are completely free, while in hip-hop there are clear guidelines. The text, the voice, the beat and the beat, everything has to harmonize with each other. “

With DARIO, the Vorarlberg native released her first song “Keep Going” including a professional music video. The soulful rap-pop mix has already been played over 30,000 times on YouTube. With her new work “Dystopia”, Sophia Juen, who goes by the stage name Nika, wants to delve deeper into the rap genre. “If everything goes according to plan, it will be published in February. The song deals with my emotional world and things that concern me. Women in front of the curtain
From the artist’s point of view, there are numerous clichés about women musicians in business that need to be questioned. “Few women are still active in the hip-hop scene, and although there are more, there are still very few in comparison. I lack reflection, the music can be very meaningful. ”The word acrobat wants to encourage other young women to use talents. “The scene is special, you have to earn the respect. It is desirable that more female rappers assert themselves in the music business. ”In the future, the musician can well imagine passing on her experiences to interested parties. “By writing rap lyrics, self-confidence is strengthened and you become more tough.” Aside from the music world, the 22-year-old works as a workshop leader for creative writing in Vorarlberg. “A lot is moved by this activity.
