The mayor had no details to provide regarding the observations made on the ground, but Councilor Daniel Champagne, during a plea on Tuesday on the importance for Gatineau of reducing its dependence on property income, suggested that this land had “an important ecological and archaeological value”. Neighborhood Councilor Mike Duggan has indicated that he prefers that the City not sell the land, but added that he prefers to prepare for all eventualities in this matter. This is why, he explained, he enlisted the services of an architectural firm, A4 Architecture + design to study the land with him. A discussion forum on sustainable development issues will be organized by the advisor, in collaboration with this firm, on June 18.
