While all eyes are on the AirPods Pro 2, which are due out this fall, Apple may also have something new for its AirPods Max headphones by the end of the year, according to Mark Gurman’s sources. The journalist from Bloomberg says in its weekly newsletter that Apple is planning new colors for its headphones. We will not know more for the moment, but the headphones will already be two years old at the end of the year: a small hardware update allowing it to remain at the level of the AirPods Pro 2 would be rather coherent. A price drop would also be welcome, especially when you know the level of discount practiced permanently at resellers…
The five current colors
For its second generation of AirPods Pro, Apple should change the design and abandon the external rods, as on the Beats Studio Buds. Apple would also plan the integration of a new chip allowing it to improve the wireless connection and the autonomy of its headphones, and Mark Gurman also evokes possible sensors which could offer new fitness features. It is also rumored that the AirPods Pro 2 would be the first to support lossless audio: if this is indeed the case, it would be desirable for the AirPods Max to benefit from it too…
