“Sony’s Project Q: A Limited Remote Play Machine or the Future of Handheld Gaming?”

“When do you think Sony will return to the handheld market?”, I don’t know how often you have encountered this question on various social media sites, let alone seeing the success achieved by the Nintendo Switch or how portable PC devices such as Steam Deck and ROG Ally currently gaining high popularity. There’s high hopes that at some point we’ll see competition from Sony again, especially for a device like the PSVita 2 that might act as a platform of its own. Even though what happened was not the same, Sony has at least prepared another portable device that they call – Project Q.

As previously reported, Project Q is not a gaming handheld that will be treated like a new platform. This device with an 8-inch 1080p HD Screen with two DualSense-style controllers on the edges complete with the latest features is just a mere remote play machine. Gamers will be able to enjoy their Playstation 5 games on Project Q via Wi-Fi connectivity only. Sony itself has not shared about the price and availability of this unique device.

“Sony’s Project Q: A Limited Remote Play Machine or the Future of Handheld Gaming?”

The presence of Project Q naturally raises a big question mark considering its limited function, where it only acts as a remote play machine. Can this device attract market attention? What exactly is Sony’s plan with this one machine? Let’s wait.
