Sony’s PlayStation Showcase: A Roundup of Exciting Game Announcements and Surprising Reveals

Sony held a massive PlayStation Showcase – in fact, this is a replacement for the big presentation at E3, which will not be this year. In general, it’s important. We, as always, looked at everything, highlighted the main thing and collected it conveniently for you with sparkling comments.

Fairgame$

Announcement in our favorite style: CGI without game frames, under rap, co-op, nothing is clear, will be released someday on PS5 and PC. But studio Heaven, which makes the game, employs Jade Raymond, who was once known as the producer of Assassin’s Creed and the unspoken sex symbol of the gaming industry. That’s what makes the trailer stand out.

Helldivers 2

The original Helldivers is one of the most fun and simply the best co-op shooters ever. An almost perfect game about the war of armored people against aliens – what kind of “Waha” is there. But the original was a topdown shooter, and the sequel, judging by the trailer, moved to a third-person view. Will it destroy the charm of the original? We’ll find out before the end of the year on PS5 and PC.

Immortals of Aveum

The debut project from a studio assembled from veterans who worked on Dead Space and Call of Duty is, of course, if you believe them. But the game looks really powerful. Like DOOM Eternal, only with magic instead of guns. Well, or as a pumped Lichdom: Battlemage, for connoisseurs. Releases July 20 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Ghostrunner 2

Ghostrunner is the cyberpunk we deserve. Ultra-hardcore, ultra-fast, ultra-stylish no-frills action. With parkour! The second part, presumably, will be even better. The game will be released in late 2023 on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Phantom Blade Zero

One of the most mysterious and most exciting announcements of the show. Feudal China, elements of steampunk and dark fantasy, sunlike – almost Wo Long of a healthy person turns out. However, despite the gameplay footage in the trailer, almost nothing is known about the game so far, not so much, maybe it is a sunlike. But the battles look spectacular, and a Beijing studio is developing Phantom Blade Zero – and we have been believing in Chinese game development lately.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

A complete remake of Hideo Kojima’s classic about the adventures of Big Boss in the USSR with a heartbreaking ending. Contrary to rumors, the game will be released not only on PS5, but also on PC and Xbox Series X|S. But there is nothing to say yet – we don’t have any gameplay footage or a release date. But it’s still nice that Metal Gear Solid is back, albeit in the form of a remake (and in the form of a re-release of the original trilogy on PS5 in the fall). You can get nostalgic about Metal Gear right now in a separate article about the genius of the series.

Final Fantasy XVI

After the failure of Forspoken and the nasty trail from Final Fantasy XV and its companion products, Square Enix has no room for error. The company seems to understand this, because the Final Fantasy XVI release trailer is damn good. And in general, the game looks great from the very announcement. And finally, in the “Finalke” a normal action! The game is out on June 22nd for PS5.

Alan Wake 2

Stephen King once wrote: “Night terrors exist outside the bounds of logic, they have little fun, they cannot be explained, they contradict the poetry of fear.” In horror stories, the victim keeps asking “why?”. But maybe there shouldn’t be any explanation. A mystery without an answer is something that stays with us forever.

We can’t wait until Alan wakes up. And he will do it on October 17 on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

The new Assassin’s Creed looks like a remake of the first part. And it’s wonderful! And it’s not just about the setting. Smaller scale, more details. And a return to stealth, as to the central mechanics. This Assassin’s Creed we are waiting for. Release October 12 on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma is an epic open world role-playing game with a degree of freedom not inferior even to the people’s Skyrim. Yes, and with a hardcore combat system. Yes, and in a well-written gloomy fantasy universe. A real role-playing game that fans have been begging Capcom for for almost a decade. And they do it, but it looks great – in the first frames, you can generally take it for the new Dragon Age.

Marathon

Bungie is about to release a non-Destiny for the first time in a thousand years. The company is resurrecting the Marathon franchise it started with back in the mid-90s, long before Halo. What it will be and when is unclear. PvP shooter for PS5 and PC, we don’t know anything else. But Marathon’s trailer is the most stylish at the presentation, with vibes of web punk and all the same 90s.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The headliner of the presentation is a big gameplay trailer of a 100% fall hit. They showed Kraven the hunter, Peter Parker in a suit with a symbiont, Miles Morales with his unique abilities and a cinematic pursuit of the Lizard. What can I say – it still looks cooler than the films from Marvel. The main video game attraction of the year comes out in autumn only on PS5.

Sony’s new portable

The strangest announcement of the presentation, which leaked a long time ago, but no one believed that such madness was possible. Remember the great PSP? And not so successful, but still alive among PS Vita enthusiasts? Forget it. Sony’s new handheld console, known as the PlayStation Q for now, will be able to receive your PS5’s signal and nothing else. Sony is really going to release a cloud console that only works in conjunction with the PS5 over Wi-Fi (although the company calls it an accessory). For money and until the end of 2023. At the same time, Microsoft games can be played via xCloud from any shovel with the Internet, without having a console at all, it is enough to pay for Game Pass.

The company also introduced TWS headphones with lossless sound support and minimal latency. But they are headphones.
