Sony will become a full-fledged partner of the creators of Stellar Blade

We already knew that Stellar Blade, having been introduced as a multi-platform game, became a console exclusive for PS5, but the relationship between the South Korean team Shift Up and Sony seems to have become even closer with the announcement of a new partnership agreement between the companies.

The definition in question is quite vague, but essentially it falls somewhere between internal studios, wholly controlled by the parent company, and independent external studios.

Shift Up will partner with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring epic AAA console games to the PS5 globally, including Korea, in an unprecedented agreement for the South Korean team.

According to the press release, “With this contract, Shift Up becomes the first Korean company to join Sony’s third-party developer program.”

The game is a fairly classic third-person action game with a special setting that mixes sci-fi and fantasy elements, with a certain emphasis on the female protagonist.

The game was originally announced as Project Eve and was multi-platform, then became Stellar Blade and was re-released as a PS5 exclusive.
