Sony unveils streaming services that PS5 supports

Sony has announced in a press release which streaming services the PlayStation 5 supports.

It will only be a few weeks before the PlayStation 5 is finally in stores. After many years, the current console generation has finally had its day. Although almost all specifications have already been announced, all those figures do not mean anything about the final moment that you are behind the buttons. Today new information has been released about the PS5 by Sony, which states which streaming services the PS5 supports.

Streaming services on PS5

The biggest innovation in the list of streaming services is the support for Apple TV Plus. This service is available immediately upon launch of the PlayStation 5. Other services available: Netflix, Twitch, Disney Plus, YouTube, and of course Spotify. The latter in particular comes as no surprise; when you take out a Spotify subscription as a PS Plus member, you have been getting a discount on your subscription for years.

After release, users can still count on a few other streaming services that will be added over time. The list includes: Amazon Prime Video, MyCanal, Hulu, Peacock, and more.

The applications mentioned above reside in one umbrella heading called Media Space. This cup should be next to Game Space. An important part of Media Space is that the streaming applications do not have to be downloaded from the PlayStation Store; they are installed by default on the PS5. Otherwise, there is good news for all fans of streaming services: a Media Remote will be released on 19 November. With this remote control you can directly open the streaming service you want to activate.
