Sony has shown off its new “portable” party speaker SRS-XV800. The unit has a total of five speakers on both the front and back and woofers with dual X-Balanced Speaker Units. If you roll the speaker forward to the center of the room, it should sound pretty much the same in every corner. The SRS-XV800 is a portable speaker, but because it’s so big, it’s equipped with built-in wheels for easy transport, just roll it like a suitcase to the next party.
In addition to the wheels, this “portable” speaker of course also has a built-in battery. Fully charged, it should be able to handle 25 hours of listening, and once discharged, ten minutes of quick charging should be enough for three more hours of listening.
As for connections, the SRS-XV800 has inputs for guitar and karaoke machine, and Bluetooth Fast Pair for faster connection to Android devices. The speaker is also equipped with Sony’s TV Sound Booster and should be able to offer really good sound for movies and TV.
The speaker is compatible with the apps Sony Music Center and Fiestable, through which, among other things, it should be possible to control the built-in lighting and add various sound effects.
The SRS-XV800 will be launched in Europe during the month of May with a price of SEK 9,500.
