Sony has made a real innovation in its activities. The Japanese electronics giant, which makes games, equipment, films and music, is about to enter the automotive industry. At CES 2024, an electric car from Sony was presented for the first time, which can be controlled using a regular PlayStation 5 gamepad.
An electric car called Afeela EV was first introduced back in 2020. Initially presented as an ambitious concept, the car reached a real prototype. Features of the car can be seen in the video below. It was developed jointly with Honda and is equipped with huge touchscreens and smart sensors that can track the position of the car in real time and objects around it.
The cars will be available in different trim levels, but each, even the most affordable version, will be equipped with a built-in PS5. Afeela EV will also integrate alternative control capabilities. Anyone can control the car using the regular DualSense gamepad from PlayStation 5. It was also announced that it will soon be available in the Gran Turismo game.
Pre-orders for the Afeela EV should begin as early as 2025, with first deliveries to owners scheduled for spring 2026.
