Sony unveiled upcoming indie games for PlayStation

On Thursday, Sony focused on new and previously released indie games that are on their way to PlayStation. Through a series of announcements on the official PlayStation blog, we heard about seven different titles, and we have put together an overview that you can browse below.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

The sequel to the adventure Oxenfree where already confirmed for PC and Nintendo Switch, and on Thursday it became clear that the game will also be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at launch. Exactly when it will be is still not entirely clear, but the plan is certain sometime later this year.

Axiom Verge 2

Another sequel comes in the form of Axiom Verge 2. Solo developer Tom Happ plans to release the platform game before the end of the year, and on Thursday he was able to reveal one of the game’s biggest secrets – namely that it contains two different worlds for players to explore.

Wytchwood

In the adventure game Wytchwood, players step into the role of an old witch, who wanders through magical surroundings in search of ingredients for witch brewery and other magical gadgets. Wytchwood will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this fall, and will also be available on PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Mac and Linux.

Sun Crest

It was earlier this year that Platinum Games and developer veteran Hideki Kamiya unveiled Sol Cresta, a sequel to the eighties classics Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta. In connection with Sony’s Indie Spotlight series, Kamiya unveiled a new trailer for the game, which is coming to PlayStation 4 – as well as PC and Nintendo Switch – this year.

A Short Hike

A Short Hike is another game that has been well received on other platforms, and which is now finding its way to PlayStation. In this adventure game you get to trudge and soar through green-clad forests, in the role of the bird Claire. The game will be launched on PlayStation 4 this fall.
