Sony has released the TA-AN1000, a UK-bound European model with a price tag of £999 and a multitude of features. The amp includes Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping and Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, as well as compatibility with the latest gaming formats such as 4K@120Hz and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). Additionally, the TA-AN1000 boasts high-res audio support, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2, as well as AI technology to improve the fidelity of low-quality digital audio files. The TA-AN1000 is also the first Sony product to have ‘Works With Sonos’ compatibility. Under the hood, the TA-AN1000 has upgraded components such as a newly designed heat sink, power transformer, and resistors, as well as a new IC chip to reduce noise and produce a more natural, atmospheric sound. This amp aims to give an immersive experience to users by creating multiple phantom speakers around the room, in addition to physical speakers in the package.
