It seems Sony is late with the launch of the SRS-XV900, but it’s not just in the summer that you can dance to loud music. The SRS-XV900 will hit stores in October and will be Sony’s most powerful party speaker.
And the one with the largest volume. The party box weighs 25kg, is rollable and actually has a rechargeable battery that can keep the party going for up to 25 hours.
Like all similar speakers, it has flashing LEDs that pulsate in time with the music and a guitar and microphone input. Of course, it has karaoke functionality and DJs can create sound effects from the touch panel on top.
The speaker has multiple drivers, including a 32 x 32cm square woofer, which we didn’t see on a Sony speaker from the APM series in the 1980s. Six tall elements are positioned 360º so that everyone around the speaker can hear the sound equally well. If you think there is insufficient pressure in the bass, you can activate the mega bass, which further increases the bass level.
The party speaker can also be connected to the TV via the optical input and also has a special TV mode for clearer TV sound. It can also be charged in just 10 minutes for up to three hours of playback time. Nice to know if you forgot to charge before guests arrive.
The SRS XV900 is priced at 13,500 and thus ranks on the high end for party speakers, both in terms of price and size.
