Sony shows long gameplay video of Horizon Forbidden West – Gaming – News

Sony has released a 14-minute video featuring Horizon Forbidden West gameplay and in-game footage. Main character Aloy takes on a mission against Raiders and a Tremortusk, a large machine that has been taken over by the Raiders.

The gameplay video was shot on a PlayStation 5 console in 4k resolution. The video on YouTube has a frame rate of 30 fps and that may also be the frame rate at which the game is running. It is not yet known whether the game will also get a 60fps mode.

The video also features the character Erend from Horizon Zero Dawn. Aloy has sent him on his way, but he is captured by Raiders. Aloy must then try to free him. The area in which the mission takes place is a jungle-like environment, including beach and water. Aloy has some new tools for getting around, such as the Pull caster, a sort of grappling hook to gain height and a Shieldwing to come down again.

Also new is a diving mask, which allows Aloy to stay underwater indefinitely. Exploring the underwater world is one of the new features of Horizon Forbidden West. In the first Horizon game, players could not enter the water.

The game takes place in a fictional future where the world has been taken over by machines. Raiders also play an important role in Forbidden West, they can control the machines and use them to fight. The events take place six months after the Horizon Zero Dawn story. is on the PlayStation Blog.

According to game director Matthijs de Jonge of the Dutch developer Guerrilla Games, the battles in Horizon Forbidden West revolve around technique and choice. Players can choose from different types of weapons and effects, just like in the first part. The game also gets new weapons, including a slingshot that shoots glue grenades and smoke bombs. Players will also be given the option to upgrade weapons.

The game world in which Aloy moves is also affected by the Red Blight. That’s a mysterious condition that causes the biosphere to collapse. Aloy must prevent that by looking for the technique to fight the Red Blight.

Horizon Forbidden West was announced in June of last year. At the time, Sony showed several trailers, but no gameplay yet. The game is the successor to Horizon Zero Dawn that was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. The game was also released for Windows last year.

Sony and Guerrilla Games have not released any news about the game’s release date. At the end of last year, Sony indicated that the game in the second half of 2021 will come out.
