jpnn.com – Sales of the Sony PlayStation 5 are reported to be more in demand than Microsoft’s latest consoles combined, the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S.
Game sales tracker VG Chartz, quoted by TechRadar, Monday, estimates that from November 8 to November 14, Sony sold 1,483,910 PS5 consoles globally, while Microsoft sold only 1,345,386 Xbox Series X / S.
Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X and S launch globally on November 10.
Sony has split the launch of the PS5 into two, with consoles released in North America, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea on November 12, and then November 19 worldwide.
The sales count was only taken during the first launch of the PS5, meaning Sony sold more PS5s in countries at launch than the Xbox Series X and S Series combined that were launched globally.
According to VG Chartz, Sony sold more PS5 consoles in North America, Australia and New Zealand during launch than its predecessor, PS4, when it was launched.
However, the PS5 has a smaller launch coverage, namely in Japan, Singapore and South Korea, than the PS4.
Meanwhile Microsoft had a record-breaking launch week for the Xbox Series X / S, selling more consoles than it did at the launch of the Xbox One.
