Sony PlayStation 5 Update: Dolby Atmos Support, Expandable Storage, and More!

Sony has introduced a new update konzole PlayStation 5. The firmware is labeled 8.0 and continues to improve the experience and add new gaming options.

Sony regularly improves and fixes the PlayStation 5 system. Now another big update is on the way, which will not solve the stability of the system, but will bring new possibilities. One of the main novelties of the update is Dolby Atmos support. 3D sound from Tempest 3D AudioTech will be able to be enjoyed by owners of compatible soundbars, televisions or home theaters.

Another important news is support for M.2 SSDs with a larger capacity. The current limit is set to 4 TB. After the 2.0 update, it will be possible to connect an SSD disk with a capacity of 8 TB to the PS5.

Next is here option to connect a second controller to one account. This will allow you to help a player in need or younger players during gameplay. From my point of view, it will be especially useful in the second case, i.e. when you play with your child or a younger sibling.

Haptic feedback will be able to be turned on while navigating the PS5 user interface to “touch” it. It will work with the DualSense controller, DualSense Edge and PS VR2 Sense.

It will also please party user interface improvements, when it will be possible to invite players without the user automatically joining a group or creating a new group. Additionally, players can send open or closed invitations to groups, not just individual players.

We are preparing further information. We will update the article.
