Several years ago, Sony Pictures put director Drew Goddard on Sinister Six, a film about six villains from the Marvel world of Spider-Man. That film had to connect to the The Amazing Spider-Manmovies from 2012 and 2014. Now the title seems to be back on the agenda.
Note: There are spoilers below for an upcoming Marvel movie.
In the Deadline podcast Hero Nation it becomes clear that Sony most likely has plans with the film again. This is mainly because it recently became clear that the after credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage link to the Spider-Man movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the podcast, host Anthony D’Alessandro indicates that in 2018 producer Amy Pascal indicated that a film about the Sinister Six is not dead. She would even want Goddard to make the film after all. In 2019, Pascal hinted that the villains would be introduced first in several movies.
For now, Sony Pictures has four films scheduled in Sony’s Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Let There Be Carnage next month, Spider-Man: No Way Home in december, Morbius in January and Kraven the Hunter in January 2023.
