The film adaptation of the popular Supermassive Games game, ‘Until Dawn‘, will soon reach theaters around the world, as its production company Sony Pictures announced the official release date.
The new film, as reported by Sony Pictures, recovered by The Hollywood Reporterwill arrive in the first half of next year 2025, specifically on April 25.
Like its source of inspiration, ‘Until Dawn’ is a horror film, which was directed by Swedish filmmaker David F. Sandberg, recognized for his work on films such as the Shazam duology, ‘Shazam!’ and ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’, and ‘Anabelle: Creation’.
One of the most renowned screenwriters in the horror genre, Gary Dauberman, known for the films ‘It’, ‘Annabelle’, ‘The Nun’ and ‘Salem’s Lot’ wrote the latest version of the script, after Blair Butler (‘ Invitation to Hell’ and ‘Polaroid’) wrote the previous draft of the script.
Main cast members include stars such as Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Odessa A’zion, Maia Mitchell and Peter Stormare.
David F. Sandberg reported a few weeks ago through his official Instagram account, @ponysmasher, that the team finished filming in Budapest, capital of Hungary, for which he thanked the cast and staff.
“We made it until dawn (pun on the title of the film and the game on which it is based). We finished with the ‘Until Dawn’ movie,” commented the filmmaker on the Meta social network.
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions had announced the film, as well as its director, Sandberg, since the beginning of 2024, this being the fifth production of the PlayStation agency specialized in entertainment, after ‘The Last of Us’, ‘Twisted Metal’ , ‘Uncharted’ and ‘Gran Turismo’.
