Sony Patents Technology That Functions Similar to Xbox Snap

TOKYO – According to GamingBoltm, Sony has released a new patent related to image processing equipment. The report claims this patent may be related to the upcoming Sony PS5. (Also read: Cool, LG Smart TV Now Equipped with Indonesian Language Voice Commands)

The page descriptions of the new patent are basically similar to the multi-screen or picture-in-picture display function. It contains the main screen and sub-screen, and the latter can display content that is different from the previous one.

The information processing device will receive an operation command switching. It can switch from the main screen operation reception mode to the sub-screen operation reception mode. After switching to a mode that accepts sub-screen operations, sub-screen content can be highlighted.

Interestingly, this new patent is very similar to the Snap function on the Xbox One. The essence is to use about a fifth of the screen to display other application content, such as YouTube / Netflix videos or Skype calls.

Until now, we don’t know whether this feature has something to do with PlayStation 5 (PS5) or not. The PS5 has at least five months to officially enter retail. So, gamer have to wait to find out if it will come with something like the one mentioned above.

Speaking of PS5, there is a hard fight to the line finish between Sony and Microsoft for consoles game next generation. While the Xbox Series X from Microsoft gives us instructions on what to expect from the console game, Sony decided to take time.

A few weeks ago, Japanese manufacturers finally revealed designs and a few game PlayStation 5. The PS5 design seems acceptable, nothing out of the ordinary.

But the latest leaked images from this console indicate that the size of this console might be a problem.
