Sony paid record sum for rights to new film starring Tom Hanks – film

According to media reports, Sony Pictures has secured the worldwide rights to the remake of the Swedish hit film “A Man Called Ove” with Tom Hanks. Sony offered a record sum of 60 million US dollars (52 million euros) at the European Film Market trade fair, as reported by the industry journals “Deadline” and “Variety”. The fair is part of the Berlinale, which opened in Berlin on Thursday evening, and is taking place online due to the corona pandemic.
