Sony officially announces The Last of Us Part II Remastered

After a lot of leaks, Sony finally has The Last of Us Part II Remastered announced. You don’t have to wait long to play the game, because it will be released for PS5 on January 19, 2024.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered was revealed via the cool trailer below. Thanks to an extensive post on the PlayStation Blog, we also get a ton of details from the remaster. The title thus receives a lot of improvements and novelties.

This remaster receives numerous graphical improvements, support for the DualSense controller, several new modes and Director’s Commentary during cutscenes.

The biggest addition to The Last of Us Part II Remastered is the brand new survival mode No Return. Here you have to survive a series of enemies. What’s cool is that each character has unique skills and traits that suit different play styles.

You can choose your own rewards for each round in No Return. Next round a little more stealthy approach? Or do you go for brutal combat gameplay? Eventually you’ll even unlock new characters and skins that you can use in your next session. Are you competitive? Then it’s up to you to prove yourself via the leaderboards.

The game will also have several Lost Levels. These are brand new locations that are not fully completed, as they were dropped from the final version of the game. The aim is to give players more insight into the development process, where you can also listen to comments from the developers.

We also get: a complete Free Play Guitar mode where the player can play the guitar or other instruments as long as he/she wants.

Do you already have the PS4 version? Then you can upgrade to the digital PS5 version from launch for €10. Or you can buy the cool physical WLF Edition of the game.

Will you play it again?
