During the exhibition, the Japanese manufacturer showed a prototype of a second electric car, this time an SUV, bearing the surprising name Vision-S 02, but that’s not all.
The more significant news is that Sony will soon set up a separate company with a mission to develop electric cars.
It will be called Sony Mobility and will be officially launched this spring.
For the Vision-S 02, the company shares some very interesting details, such as that the car will be able to connect remotely to the Playstation 5 and we will be able to play games directly from the cabin while driving.
The vehicle is packed with all sorts of sensors and technologies, a large-scale multimedia system and a second level of autonomy.
External sensors have a 360-degree range and recognize the environment in real time, and Time-of-Flight sensors, as we see in smartphones, will recognize the driver.
It seems that the electric car market will become another reason for competition between the big names in the technology sector.
It is known that Apple is devoting a huge resource to develop its Project Titan, while Xiaomi and Huawei are also taking steps in this direction.
