Sony launches WF-1000XM4 wireless headphones

Sony has now launched its new WF-1000MX4 wireless headphones. The new headphones promise to take both Sony’s noise reduction and sound quality to the next level.

The headphones support high-resolution audio wireless through LDAC, Sony’s audio encoding technology, which can provide a maximum transmission speed of 990 kbps. The headphones’ new 6 mm drive unit promises a dynamic sound despite a smaller size, while the diaphragm will reproduce a rich bass sound.

The new 6 mm drive unit also has a 20 percent increased magnetic volume which, together with the new diaphragm, achieves better performance at low frequencies which improves the noise-reducing functions. The headphones also withstand water splashes and sweat according to IPX4 rating.

The battery life of the WF-1000XM4 is 8 hours with the noise reduction activated and another 16 hours through the charging case. The headphones should be able to charge 60 minutes of playing time in five minutes. The case can be charged wirelessly through Qi technology.

WF-1000XM4 comes in the colors black and silver and is available in June. Recommended price is SEK 2,800.
