Sony is rumored to close its digital stores for PS3, PS Vita and PSP this summer

Should no longer be able to buy new games or dlc.

Everything has its time, and now it’s time to shut down Sony’s digital stores for PS3, PS Vita and PSP. At least if we are to believe an anonymous but, according to The Gamer, verified source. The PSP and PS3 stores will close again on July 2, while the PS Vitans ditto will be open until August 27.

You will be able to download games and dlc you own, but will not be able to buy new ones.

The credibility of the rumor does not feel safe, but according to the source, official news will come before March becomes April, so we will get the results very soon. Both PS3 (2007) and PSP (2005) can be described as huge successes with over 80 million copies sold during each life cycle. PS Vitan, on the other hand, did not sell close to the same figures, and is estimated to have turned around 15-16 million. It may sound like a lot, but in comparison with the mentioned PSP and PS3, Vitan feels almost dead.

It remains to be seen if there will be a funeral beer this summer for each digital store.
