Sony is reportedly planning to compete with the Xbox Game Pass

The Xbox Game Pass subscription quickly became very popular and is basically the main thing Microsoft is currently betting on. You will find hundreds of titles in the library, which are added every month, and specifically games from the World Championships will always be added on the day of release. In addition, you can play virtually anywhere, whether on a PC, console or mobile phone via the cloud. Sony has not yet responded to this success with Microsoft. But what it looks like could finally change.

Magazine Bloomberg, specifically well – known journalist Jason Schreier, informed that Sony, according to his sources, is actually planning to launch a new service. It bears a code designation Spartacus and has to go about direct competition from the Game Pass, which combines existing PlayStation Now programs (access to the library of titles that can be played via the cloud is not available in our country) a PlayStation Plus (access to multiplayer and free monthly games).

The service should be divided into three levels, whereas the highest could reportedly include games from older consoles such as PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2 or portable PSP. What we don’t expect, on the other hand, is to subscribe to big titles on the day of publication. However, according to Schreier, this should be a stronger offer than currently offered by PlayStation Now.

The service is to be launched next spring. But we will probably wait some more time for the official announcement.
