Sony fined 3.5 million Australian dollars for money-back policy – IT Pro – News

When dealing with the Australian users who contacted the PlayStation Support Center
about games which those users had purchased via the PlayStation Store and which the
users considered to be faulty or of unacceptable quality, or not fit for purpose, or did not
match the description, Sony Europe represented that, even if a game had a major failure or
some other failure to comply with a guarantee that could not be, or had not been, remedied

In short, the statement refers to any form of ‘not good’, not specifically ‘broken’.

However, the usercases
Aven Colony – apparently full of bugs?
(Sony says we don’t do it, take it up with the developer – Team17).
Hitman the game – the game doesn’t work keep telling me to download it.
(Sony says they don’t give a refund because the game has already been downloaded)
Call of Duty WW2 – the game was “faulty” and “in its current state it is not functioning properly.
(Sony says the same as with Hitman)
Raid: World War II – buggy mess, a lot of stuff dont even work
(again downloaded story)

The way I read it, games like No mans Sky, Anthem, think games like that.

There are more, but they all come together to the same effect, I think a bit skewed.

So basically just a WKOA, but going a little further than our version, that games should also be a ‘good and solid product’, otherwise you can ask for your money back in Australia.
