Because of this, the new main character Atsu received backlash from fans, and the game experience was not as positive. According to a new rumor, Sony executives were unhappy with the first impressions.
This rumor comes from Endymion, who received this information from someone who was supposed to be inside. The YouTuber said Ghost of Yotei surprised a lot of people at Sony, especially those who didn’t know what Sucker Punch was up to.

Other Sony executives expected Jin Sakai’s story to continue, and were surprised to see Atsu as the new heroine. Fans appreciated the new setting, but many wanted to see Jin Sakai as the main character because of his role in Ghost of Tsushima.
