Sony is releasing the DualSense controller in the colors Midnight Black and Cosmic Red. The new PlayStation 5 controllers will be available from June 2021.
Although the Sony PlayStation 5 was released half a year ago, the game console has been very difficult to obtain since its release. The company recently announced that it will remain difficult to buy a PS5 throughout 2021. Yet this does not prevent Sony from releasing a new series DualSense controllers to market. The DualSense was introduced at the same time as the PS5 and until now was only available in the same white / black color scheme as the console itself.

Starting next month, PlayStation fans can also choose a black or red version. The ‘Midnight Black’ model uses two different shades of black, with light gray icons. The ‘Cosmic Red’ version is colored red / black, with red colored icons. Both new colors are inspired by the galaxy. Details about the release will be announced at a later date, according to the PlayStation blog described.
The American PS Direct website however, is already reporting a launch on June 11, 2021. The Midnight Black DualSense controller will be offered there for $ 70 USD, which is identical to the existing white / black variant. The Cosmic Red version is priced at $ 75 USD.
It is still unknown whether the controller will also be available worldwide on June 11, we may have to wait a little longer here. In the Netherlands we pay around € 68 for the DualSense controller. This will probably also be the price of the black variant, the Cosmic Red version will then be a few euros more expensive.

Much has been said and written about the DualSense controller in the past period. Thanks to the haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers, this controller offers a whole new game experience. The built-in microphone is also appreciated by many online gamers. It is definitely a worthy successor to the DualShock controller, we concluded in our PS5 review.
Yet there are certainly not only positive sounds to be heard regarding the DualSense. Indeed, several users have reported operation problems, which seriously affect the gaming experience. Some gamers also experience problems with the battery. It is to be hoped that Sony takes these issues seriously, so that a situation like that does not arise as with Nintendo and her Joy-Con controllers.
